0  0  New PESHAWAR: The outlawed militant outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Wednesday claimed that its popularity was on the rise in Pakistan, Geo News reported.
"An ever increasing number of Pakistanis are joining hands with us adding more and more firepower to our jihadist capabilities. The graph of our popularity is going north", Shahidullah Shahid, the TTP spokesman said in a statement issued here.
Going forward, Shahid made light of a military operation the government of Pakistan was yet undecided over.
"We are dying to see the "glorious" results of a "grand" onslaught that the "valiant" armed forces of Pakistan are preparing to launch against us", said the TTP spokesman ironically.
He said that the Pakistanis were waking up to reality that the real issue was not the slavery of US but the system that was imposed upon Pakistan since it came into being in 1947.
He also advised the government of trying to figure out what actually forced the TTP to start its jihadist movement.
"Instead of pulling the "trigger", if the government of Pakistan focuses on removing the "triggers" of this war the TTP’s anti-state activities will reduce drastically", said he.
Without mincing his words, Shahidullah Shahid warned that in case of a military operation the local tribesmen would suffer far greater losses than Taliban.
